What’s The Best Colon Cleansing Method?

As the colon is our body’s repository, it is only natural that we try to keep it disease free by finding the best colon cleansing methods to maintain a healthy colon. There are a number of ways that we can go about cleaning this vital organ of ours. Natural ways can be as uncomplicated as just a simple change in our eating habits, while some require synthetic and complicated procedures. In this article, I will try to provide you some of these colon cleansing methods.

Colonic Hydrotherapy

Colonic hydrotherapy, also known as colonic irrigation is said to be one of the best colon cleansing methods. This method employs water to clean harmful materials inside our colon. This procedure requires a tube to be inserted into the anus. Once the tube is in place, warm water will be flushed in to soften the hardened fecal matter that has attached itself to the walls of the colon. Compared to enemas, more water is used in this method.

Although this is one of the most recognized forms of colon cleansing, people shy away from it due to its high price, invasive, and uncomfortable nature. Another drawback to this method is the fact that even though it is successful in flushing out hardened fecal matter, it doesn’t get rid of the accumulated toxins and mucus around the intestinal lining. This method can only be done by trained professionals.

Oxygen-based Cleansers

Unlike hydrotherapy, oxygen based cleaners are able to dissolve toxins and mucus build up in the intestinal lining. Oxygen based cleaners are considered to be one of the best colon cleansing methods due to its ability to eliminate waste build up not just in the colon but also in the small intestine. Ozonated magnesium oxide – the key ingredient in this cleansing method – turns compacted waste into gas or liquid, which makes cleaning more thorough and easier. Oxygen based cleansers pose no danger because they are natural and non toxic. Another plus factor for this method is that it’s non evasive and painless.

Enemas

The procedure for enemas is almost the same as hydrotherapy. Just like hydrotherapy, water is used to flush out waste matter. But that’s where the similarities end. Enemas can only get rid of wastes stored in the rectum, and can only clean the outer part of the colon. Aside from water enemas, there is also clay and coffee enemas.

Laxatives

This is probably the most recognized name when it comes to colon cleansing. But contrary to popular belief, this is not even technically considered a colon cleanser. Laxatives do not clean the colon, but only make the waste movement much easier. Continued use of laxatives can actually create problems later as your bowels can become used to relying on the laxatives.

As you can see there are a few different colon cleanse methods available to choose from however choosing the best colon cleansing method for you will depend on what you can afford and are comfortable using.
