Cleansing the colon is a very vital process when it comes to keeping the body healthy. But the thing is, most people tend to minimize the importance of it. Studies have shown that a huge number of people fail to truly understand the significance of cleansing their colon, and the method of how to go about doing it. This lack of understanding and awareness can greatly influence one’s health.
Most people tend to forget that an unhealthy colon can affect other organs in our body. How big this impact is, depends on how unhealthy the colon can become. This is the reason why cleansing the colon must be done at least once a year.
The process of colon cleansing includes maintaining a proper diet, and regular exercise. A colon cleanse can be done with either synthetic or through natural means. In this article, I will describe both methods, synthetic and natural, to help you choose which procedure to use in cleansing the colon.
Synthetic Methods
Colonic irrigation or colonics – This method can either be done in a clinic or at home and is the most commonly used process in cleaning the colon. The procedure starts with the insertion of a tube inside your colon that pumps warm water. This warm water softens the hardened fecal matter that has attached itself to the walls of your colon. As the fecal matter softens, it is then sucked and flushed out of your body through the tube. The whole process can last up to 40 minutes for every session. The downside to this is the high cost and the intrusive nature of the process.
Oxygen based cleaners – This type of method employs oxidation reduction to cleanse the colon. This process reduces solid fecal matter and turns it into liquid or gas.
Natural Methods
Fiber rich diet – Having a fiber rich diet helps in cleansing the colon by helping ease the passage of fecal matter out of the colon. Remember that when fecal matter blocks the colon, your colon then becomes a breeding ground for harmful parasites and bacteria. Once these bacteria and parasites are left unchecked, they can slip into the bloodstream and harm other organs.
Water – We all know that water is the driving force behind every living organism in our planet. Drinking water helps in cleansing the colon by speeding up the process of ejecting harmful toxins out of our body. The more water you drink, the easier it is for your body to get rid of toxins.
