Natural Methods in Colon Cleaning

The reason why there is such a debate over the effects of colon cleansing and the question of its necessity—is because there has been little research done devoted on this subject. I have provided you with some information on a variety of natural methods you can choose from to assist with colon cleansing and their proven results.

The two methods that are used today for natural colon cleansing are an over-the-counter product or seeing a practitioner to have a colon irrigation performed.

In regards to products you can purchase, some you can take orally and some through the rectum, but the main goal for both of these methods is to help expel any waste left in the colon. Many of these products can be found online, health stores, grocery stores, or pharmacies. Some of the products include enemas, herbal teas, powders, antiparasite capsules, enzymes, and laxatives.

If you have had a colon cleaning performed by a practitioner, sometimes known as a colon therapist or colonic hygienist, you will know that their practices have no discomfort or unpleasant odors involved. The first machine used for this procedure was produced over 100 years ago. This machine works just like an enema, but with much more water involved. As you lie on your back, 20 gallons of water is driven through a tube that is inserted into your rectum as it flushes your colon area.

The therapy may include an abdominal massage that helps to remove excess waste as the water is traveling through your system. This entire process may be repeated and can last up to an hour. Along with water, practitioners may give you an option of mixing it with coffee, herbs, enzymes or probiotics (which are good bacteria for our digestive system).

Historical Theory

The theory behind using these natural methods of colon cleansing is to prevent toxins from certain unnatural foods from entering the blood stream, therefore, poisoning the body. People have claimed that these toxins produce the following: headache, fatigue, weight gain, and reduced energy levels.

I will dive into more of the risks and effects of cleaning your colon later. First I wanted to make sure that you were aware of the many natural methods or alternative medicines that were available to you if you choose to cleanse your colon.
